MAHABALIPURAM, India – Archaeologists have begun underwater excavations of what is believed to be an ancient city and parts of a temple uncovered by the tsunami off the coast of a centuries-old pilgrimage town.

Flash flooding tsunami waters, following a massive meteor impact in the Gulf of Mexico, may have messed up the geological record 65 million years ago, say New Mexican and Mexican geologists.

The Chicxulub impact event, which many people believe is responsible for ending the reign of dinosaurs, must have created a gigantic tsunami which washed far into what is today Mexico and Texas.
